Water Lilies

My paintings are inspired by Claude Monet. The ones on this page are an homage to his water lilies, and many of them are based on photos I took at his lily pond in Giverny. Some are included on other theme pages, including details of water lilies taken from larger pictures (i.e., from Balboa Park).

"Reflections of Monet" Commission

Based on Monet's "Green Reflections" (but bluer!), the story behind this 12-foot-wide diptych is the subject of my blog article, "The First Painting I Sold," which includes the amount paid for this composition.

To see the progression of the painting, details, and its installation watch the 3-minute video, "Reflections of Monet: My Painting Process by Leigh Cohn."
